The useful comparison is what happens next. Can Morehouse and Edward Waters reproduce their scoring? Can Kentucky State continue winning close games? Can Benedict follow survival with cleaner control? The conference race becomes meaningful when those traits persist against changing opponents.
What to watch
Benedict’s next game should be judged by more than whether it wins. Fewer breakdowns, stronger possession control and the ability to protect a lead would show that the Fort Valley State game became a lesson rather than merely a memory. That is how one point can influence more than one week.
